Define Exactly What You Want
What do you want?
Most people have no idea what they want. When asked, “What do you want?” most people will respond in one of three ways: 1- They tell you they don’t know (or are silent). 2- They tell you what they are (i.e. I am broke, depressed, angry) or, 3- They tell you what they don’t want (i.e. “I don’t want to be miserable anymore”). Unfortunately, none of these responses defines what a person does want.
If you expect to get what you want, you better know exactly what it is that you want! This is a big world. There are millions of options out there for you. How can you ever hit your mark, if you don’t know where that mark is?
If you don’t decide what you want to do - The world will.
In this world, the people who know what they want, and take action to achieve it, recieve it! However, if you settles for whatever comes your way; then you are going to get what’s left over after everyone has taken what they want.
A simple example of this is a pot luck. In a pot luck people bring all sorts of various foods. When it’s time to eat people get up and start selecting the foods they want to try. When you know what you want and you take action, you are one of the first people to the serving tables and you get to try what ever you want. But, what happens to the guy who says, “oh, I don’t want to be pushy. I’ll just wait until the tables clear a bit”. When this guy gets to the table all that is left is a few dinner rolls and some turnip greens. If this guy happens to love dinner rolls and turnip greens that’s great. However, chances are that he really would have perferred a steak.
Set your goals high and be specific!
When you set your goals, set them high. As the saying goes “It is better to set your goals high and to miss, than to set them low and hit your target.” The higher you set your goal the higher you will achieve. Most people naturally put in just enough effort to reach just below their goal mark. For example: the average person how sets a goal to save $6000.00 this year will actually save just over $5000.00; However, a person with exactly the same financial capabilities and dept ratio who sets a goal to save $10,000.00 this year will actually save just below $9,000.00 !!! What was the difference? The only difference was the target they set for themselves. Ironically, this difference can often be achieved with no noticeable difference in effort.
Once your goal is set, break it down into manageable steps.
Too often, people set goals and never achieve them. Sometimes once a person has set a goal he or she will never even take the first step toward achieving it. Why is this?
Most of the time a large goal can feel overwhelming to the person who has set the goal. Breaking the goal down into manageable chunks can help. If you want to write a book the first step may be to come up with a topic. The second step may be to create an profile for the main character. Next, you may want to build the profiles of the supporting characters. Then maybe you want to outline the chapters of the book. Once you have an outline maybe you want to write one chapter per week.
Take Action!!!
Obviously, this is the most important step! If you don’t take action then nothing will get done.
You will also find that once you have taken the first action, the second action is easier to take. Then the third is even easier than the second was. Action is like a ball rolling down a hill! The futher it goes, the more speed and momentum it gains, until it becomes UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Beautiful article, Priscilla!
Simple, to the point, yet so complicated to apply for some.
Cheers,

Patricia- Thank you! Yes, sometimes simple concepts are not always easy to apply. Often times it take determination, practice, and the ability to master your sub-conscious mind. I am going to be working on a series in the next few week about how to take control of our subconscious minds. You may want to check back for that soon.
