Book Submission Request Article
I have sent a letter much like this one to many of you. If you are one of the people who received this letter there has been one change. I now am asking for each submission to be 1500 words or less. Other than that the body of this letter remains the same so you may want to scroll down to the guidelines section of this page.
I am putting together a book. This book will be a culmination of personal development articles submitted by people who have been included on The Personal Development List.
This is a formal invitation to join me in the creation of this book by submitting articles you would like me to include. I am really excited about this project and I am confident that after you finish reading this article you will be as well.
This book is going to be a much like the “Chicken Soup For the Soul” series, and Jack Canfields “How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be” in that, it will be a collection of useable techniques, principles, skills, and idea’s collected from numerous people in the personal development field.
I want to make it clear that I am not looking to rewrite either of the above mentioned books, as that would not produce much value to anyone and, to do so would be both legally and morally wrong. We can however, learn from and model the successful elements of such leaders in a new and creative way.
Please be as original as possible with your submissions. The more useful and original your submission is, the more likely it is to be included in the book.
I am sure that with as many people as we have contributing to this project, there will be some overlap in ideas. This is why originality and practical application is important. Feel free to refer to LOA, EFT, LEAP and other known personal development technologies but, please do not make them your main theme unless you are providing a new twist to them.
Once the book is complete you will all be invited to participate in an affiliate program. I will provide a link that each of you may use to promote and sell the book and, you will be given a percentage of each sell you make.
I truly believe that this book will be the next BIG THING in the personal development world both online and off! Inclusion in this book will certainly make your work well known to the public. Can you imagine the scope and the reach we would have if everyone on The Personal Development List promoted this book?
Please send your submissions to me (before Nov. 25th 2007) to: priscilla@priscillamcintire.com.

This looks like another great idea. I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t know where to start in looking for an appropriate topic or current article/blog to build on. 1500 words sounds alot - as editor what would you be hoping for?!

Priscilla, so this is the secret you alluded to on my blog…
Well, I didn’t get an email but I would LOVe to participate. Funny…I was emailing with Galba Bright and said something like, “We could write a book similar to The Age of Conversation…”
You’re phenomenal. Great minds…

Hi Priscilla
I can’t say this enough but this is truly a brilliant and fabulous idea. I’ll definitely be submitting my article soon.
This book will definitely be a win-win situation for both the readers and writers. The readers will get tons of great & solid information, benefits and value from the content while the writers will get more exposure and can reach out to more people to assist.
Alright, enough said. I’ve got to start submitting my article cos I just can’t wait to see the final product of this book.

David- You are correct I did leave the “topics” pretty open. I did this intentionally hoping it would push people to be creative. Your free to use your imagination.
In an editor I’m gathering all the information I can before making a decision. In the end the one who gets the job is the one who I believe will produce professional quality at the lowest price.
Are you interested? If so (or you know someone who is) please send me an estimate of your fee to http://www.priscillapalmer.com .
Lisa- I would love for you to participate. I only sent out about 50 e-mails before I realised I needed to be more specific and decided this post was a better way to reach people.
It’s awesome that you and Galba had the same idea. I wonder if that is a sign of the universe sending out a signal saying this is needed and will be a hit.

Shafi’e- Thank you for all your wonderful comments today! I can’t wait to see what you submit!

Hello Priscilla:
Thanks so much for this article. I found the FAQs particularly helpful. I will certainly write an article. I’m delighted that you’re moving forward with this.
As Lisa Gates says, it’s an idea that we have discussed a similar idea. I’m sure it will be very successful.

In my earlier comment I was assuming you would be editing (I certainly have no expertise in that area). I have an article of around 800 words that I was going to submit to article directories but will hang onto. My question was whether you prefer longer articles, nearer 1500 words (I can easily add to my current one), or prefer much shorter. David
October 21st, 2007 @ 5:36 pm
Thea- I’m happy you will be participating. I had hoped you would.
David- I’m sorry. Please don’t add content for the sake of making it acceptable. I will be just as happy with a 800 word article as I will with a 1500 word one. I just added the length limit in order to make the project manageable.
October 21st, 2007 @ 11:37 pm
I admire your tenacity. It will be a meaningful project precisely because you have already decided on the widespread benefits of the outcome. Simply believe and you will certainly achieve.

Priscilla -
What a fabulous idea. I absolutely WILL be participating in the project.
I appreciate your invitation and look forward to joining the rest of these great resources in bringing these insights and tools to a wider audience!
