Train For Success

When we pursue personal development what we are really doing is conditioning ourselves for success.  We learn through consistent exposure and repetition.

Think about it!  If you want to be a great baseball player what do you do?  You follow a system of steps right?  1- You watch the game 2- You learn (the rules, the basics, the tricks, and ways to improve)  3- You get the equipment  4- You practice, practice, practice 5- You play  6-  You repeat the process.

The more you run this process the better you get.  If you do this over a period of several years you get really good.  You may even become a world champion.

Life is no different.  The more we: watch, learn, practice, do, and repeat the better we get.  We even buy new and better equipment as we go along.

Baseball is just a game yet, everybody understands the concept of following the process if you want to win the game.  Life on the other hand is much more than just a game.  Doesn’t it make since that we should put just as much (if not more) effort into the process of becoming good at life?

How do we get better at life?  Well, we run the process of course.

1- You watch the game-  Watch other people.  What are they doing differently than you?  What works?  What doesn’t?  We can avoid all kinds of mistakes by learning from others, as well as learning from our own experience.

I suggest investing time to learn from the people who are where you want to be.  Like the guy who wants to be a great baseball player will watch the great players over and over again, you want to watch the great people who (insert what you want to do in life)!

2-  There are laws and rules that govern human life.  How do you learn these?  Personal development of course!!!

You should always be learning.  You can learn by reading, listening to audio programs, watching educational videos, going to seminars, or getting active in clubs/associations.

3-  Get the equipment-  The equipment for life can include educational material, tools of your trade, or items necessary for survival.

4-  Practice, practice, practice-  This is where you decide what you want, you visualize yourself achieving it, you set goals, make plans, and test out theories.

5-  You play-  This is the fun part!  Now you get to really do what you have been practicing.  Do the things that you have planned to do.  Do the things that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.

The number one rule to playing the game of life is to stay positive, and have fun.  Your thoughts and attitudes will attract to you exactly what you think about most often.

6-  Repeat the process-  Life doesn’t stop when we reach a goal.  If we don’t keep moving forward we will slide back.  In order to avoid this we need to be sure we set new goals just before we achieve the one we are working on.

If you follow these steps you will never get bored.  You will always have something new and exciting to look forward to.
