I Can’t Sman’t

I cringe when I hear people say “I can’t”.  As a believer in the law of attraction, I can almost hear the universe responding back with “Your wish is my command”.  Yikes!

When we declare “I can’t _______”, we are making a command both to ourselves and to the universe.  Our thoughts, actions, and the actions of society will line up to produce to result we declared we want.

Why do would we do this to ourselves?  I don’t believe that any of us would do it intentionally (pun intended).  Still, that is exactly what we do.  We make a statement that we intend for ourselves “not to be able to do what we say”.

For those of you who are not familiar with the law of attraction the above paragraph may seem confusing so, let me clarify.  The law of attraction basically says that we get what we think about the most.  We can get what we want by intending it to be, this is called the “power of intention”.

Remember that the law of attraction cannot tell whether you want something or not.  It only knows that that is what you are thinking about.  Therefore that is what you will get.  If you are thinking (even worse saying) that “I can’t”, then you can’t.

Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can or can’t, you are right.”  This is the essence of the law of attraction.

The next time you think you “can’t”, think again.  If you must make such a statement change the wording to something like “up till now I haven’t been able to…”, or “I choose to do __________  instead”  Don’t give your power away.  Let the law of attraction work for you rather than against you.

If you would like more information on the law of attraction I suggest watching the movie “The Secret“.  There are also some excellent bloggers out there who write about such topics here are some links to a few of my favorites:  Live The Power, The Secret DVD Blog, The Law of Attraction For Beginners, and Manifesting:Life Magick.

There are so many wonderful blogs that speak of the law of attraction that it would take all day to list them.  I therefore would like to invite my readers to make a comment and link to your own LOA blog posts.  If you do not have a blog, you may have a favorite site that discusses the law of attraction.  If so, add a comment and let us know about it.

    Hi Priscilla!

Maria Palma- Your very welcome, thank you for inviting us to your site

JaniceNW- Unfortunately I don’t personally know any chemistry/math coaches in seattle. I have however heard good things about Seattle Area Math Tutors you can find them on line at http://www.math-n-stuff.com/tutors/tutors.pdf good luck with that!

    Hi Priscilla!

Thank you for the invite and for dropping me a line. I sincerely appreciate this opportunity.

I have learned from my own experience that the Law of Attraction works. I have also learned that it is a life’s journey to understand the world around us and how we fit in. As we all know, thinking a few positive thoughts here and there does not manifest our greatest desires.

I have just posted a new video by Bob Proctor that I consider a “Must-See” video. In it, you will be told that if you want to change your life, you need to, change your life! There is much more to the movie than this, but it emphasizes the need for a change within ourselves if we expect our outcomes to change.

But how do we change then? We change through learning, discovery and exploration. Read books, watch movies, listen to podcasts every single day of your life to keep yourself inspired. This is where my website can help you. There are videos, podcasts, book recommendations, etc. that WILL help you make the changes you need to make in your life.

So get comfortable in your chair, clear your mind, and prepare to be introduced to some of the best materials known to man. Visit .

    Stay Inspired! - Scott

    Hi Priscilla,

Great post, and great idea setting up a central area for bloggers to post their LOA articles. Thanks for inviting me to participate. :)

While there are quite a few articles that I’ve written on the Law of Attraction, the most recent is Using the Top Three - Taking Action. While I don’t mention LOA directly in it, it’s written all over it between the lines. ;)

It’s funny… while going through my archives and stats pages, I realized that while probably every blog post I write is related to it in some way, I don’t mention it by name very often… interesting…

  9. priscilla:

Thank you Lyman! Your blog probably should have been listed in my post with the others. It is one of my favorites, I just didn’t think about it at the time.

  10. Jennifer McLean:

I write quite a bit about these concepts at my blog http://www.bigbookofyoublog.com I also have a free healing CD (the soul song of the earth) that uses Joe Vitale’s Ho’oponopono; a clearing technique that works in conjunction with the LOA you can access that at http://www.soulsongoffer.com (it heals the individual AND the earth :)

Thanks for the great blog an the opportunity to share!

  11. priscilla:

Thank you Jennifer. I’ll have to check out that CD!

  12. Coach Steve Toth:
