Believe

The key to success is simply to believe in yourself. The reason 98% of the world accepts mediocrity is because they never really believed that they could rise above it. If you don’t believe you can succeed you never will.  Your actions will follow the portrait of yourself that you paint in your own mind. If you think you are a champion, then you will act like a champion. If you think you are a loser, then you will act like a loser.

For better or worse your mental image of yourself, will determine your level of success.  The good news is you have the power to change how you see yourself. You can decide to see yourself any way you would like to. We are all given this ability, but rarely are we taught to use it.  Most people go through life thinking that they have no control over who they are. They think that they are born to be one way and they can’t do anything to change it, but this is simply not true. We just need to understand how our brain works in order to take control.

Our subconscious guides our behavior more than most of us realize. However, it can not tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined. We are only limited by the barriors we set in our own mind. When we understand this, we can use it to our advantage.

Intentionally visualize yourself as you would like to be. Imagine in as much detail as you can, that you are who you want to be. Imagine yourself doing what you would like to be doing. Play it over and over in your mind like a movie.

Use as many senses as you can when doing this. See yourself acting the way you want to act. Hear the reactions of others. How do you feel? What temperature is the room? What can you smell? If you are eating how does it taste? The more detail you can imagine the more your subconscious gets it confused with reality. This may seem a little uncomfortable at first. You may even think you are just playing a game, or trying to trick yourself.  Maybe you even think your lieing to yourself. In reality however, you use this exact process whether you realize it or not. You do it automatically. The difference is you may not do it intentionally: if so, you will get results of that unintentional action. The other tool we may use in creating and changing beliefs is testing. Anthony Robbins uses the idea of a belief being like a table that must have legs to support it. If you have a belief that is limiting you, then you need to kick out the supporting legs.

If you have a belief that you can’t speak in public, and you want to change that belief. Then start taking steps to over come this belief. If you don’t have the courage yet to get up in front of an audience, start by creating a speech and giving it outloud to yourself in the mirror. Then give it to your family or a few friends.

If you keep taking steps to prove your limiting belief wrong, and your empowering belief correct eventually you will change it. At that point you can start adding more legs to support your new belief. The more reasons to support your belief you aquire the more stable the belief becomes.

You can do anything you choose to do. Don’t put off your dreams until tommorrow or your in danger of never grabbing on to your dreams. Start now… Today may be the only chance you get!!! I challange you to take control of your own life and become who you want to be.
